Ratatat’s tour touting their new LP3 album blazed through Hollywood for two nights this past week (I attended the second). The trio put forth their unique sounds with a playlist heavy on LP3; no complaints here. It’s likely to round out as a top 5 album of 2008 through these ears.
     The keyboard, guitar, bass and beats of Ratatat are intricately arranged to get your head bobbin’ and your mind gazin’. The guitar work of Mike Stroud bends notes, sliding up and down, with a somewhat menacing tinge. Speaking of bend, I’ve never seen anyone bend so far back while strummin’ strings. Is he a former gymnast?
